Apprentice Electrician – St. Louis Office

Reports to: Job Foreman & Journeyman Electricians

Scope of Work: An apprentice electrician is an entry-level electrical trainee enrolled in an apprenticeship program to learn the concepts and skills necessary to become a certified journeyman electrician. As an apprentice, he or she will receive a combination of classroom education and paid on-the-job experience. Will work under the supervision of a journeyman electrician.

Job Requirements:

  • Current, valid, driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • High School Graduate, or equivalent G.E.D. certificate
  • Practices and comprehends safe work procedures per Company policy and OSHA Standards

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, push, pull and reach overhead
  • Lift up to 51 pounds
  • Climb and work on ladders (all types)
  • Completing overhead work for full-day assignments
  • Capable of digging trenches, either by use of hand tools or power equipment
  • Possess good vision (normal or corrected)
  • Able to operate two handed tools (cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, etc.)
  • Working Conditions:
  • Work in all elements, depending on job location, time of year (heat, cold, rain, snow)
  • May be exposed to heights; must be comfortable with heights
  • Operate company vehicles; maintain in good working condition
